::: Homemade Hummus :::

Hummus?? What hummus..? When i taste hummus serve with falafel at one restaurant in Plymouth MN, i just love it.. When i love something what i eat, i will try to find how the recipe and taste similar like i want. So, i did google, youtube and i tell you, a lots of recipe we can try.. I just pick which is easy and simple to make it. :)

Hummus (Arabic: حُمُّص‎) is a Middle Eastern and Arabic food dip or spread made from cooked, mashed chickpeas blended with tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, salt and garlic.[1] Today, it is popular throughout the Middle East, Turkey, North Africa, Morocco, and in Middle Eastern cuisine around the globe. Ingredients:

  • 1 16 oz can of chickpeas or garbanzo beans
  • 1/4 cup liquid from can of chickpeas
  • 3-5 tablespoons lemon juice (depending on taste)
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons tahini - i made my own tahini sauce from youtube :)
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed - 1 garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Preparation:

Drain chickpeas and set aside liquid from can. Combine remaining ingredients in blender or food processor. Add 1/4 cup of liquid from chickpeas. Blend for 3-5 minutes on low until thoroughly mixed and smooth.
